The Fish Pedicure Process

When a customer comes in for a fish pedicure, approximately 100 Garra Rufa fish are waiting in a pedicure tank for that person.

The customer will remove their socks and shoes. Their feet are then washed and checked by the staff to make sure they don’t have any cuts that could become infected. The customer then places their feet into the heated spa, and the fish gravitate towards them, specifically to areas where there is a lot of dead skin.

As you can imagine, the nibbling of the fish can feel slightly ticklish to the customer! After a few minutes, the ticklish feeling wears off and the gentle nibbling and warm water feels more like a pleasant massage. Customers rarely, if ever, report that a fish pedicure is uncomfortable or painful in any way. Some people actually think it is very relaxing and similar to a gentle foot massage.

Once your session with the fish has ended, the customer removes their feet from the water, and has them thoroughly washed and dried to ensure the highest standard of hygiene.

After a fish pedicure, many customers say that their feet are softer than ever before!
